MEYE / PRODUCT & SERVICES
Your work stays on your Mac.
How Ruovia LLC handles information when you use Meye and this website.
Effective 12 Oct 2026
Local captures, captions and edits
Meye processes captures, captions and edits locally on your Mac. These files and their contents are not uploaded by Meye, except a capture you choose to attach to feedback. You decide where to save, export and share your work.
Connections Meye makes
- Licence activation and refresh connect to meye.ruobin.dev and send the licence key, device identifier and app version to validate the licence and manage its device limit.
- Pro reports daily capture/export counts (date and count only, never content) to grant activity rolls.
- Update checks connect to release.meye.ruobin.dev to check for app releases.
- Optional instrument packs can be downloaded when you first use music features. Downloads do not upload your film.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Ruovia LLC never sees your full card number. We use the order and contact information needed to provide your licence, receipts, refunds and support.
Feedback
When you send feedback from Meye, it goes to meye.ruobin.dev. Nothing leaves your Mac until you press Send, and you can delete an item in My Feedback at any time.
- Every request carries the device identifier (an irreversible hash) and a feedback key; the server keeps only a hash of the key. Device identifiers are kept for rate limits and reward counts.
- Kind, title, message and language are kept until you delete the item or ask us to delete it.
- Your email, only if you enter one, is used only to reply to that feedback and never added to any mailing list.
- A capture or diagnostics text is sent only if you attach it. Files are deleted 180 days after the item is closed (not planned, fixed, or reward claimed); the item then shows the attachment as expired.
- Diagnostics are redacted on your Mac before the preview you see, and the server masks paths, emails and long identifiers again before storing them.
- IP addresses are not stored; they are used only in memory for rate limits. Server logs record item ids, the first 8 characters of the device identifier and the action, never message text, emails, keys, tokens or codes.
Error reports
By default, when Meye crashes or certain operations fail (export, screenshots and recordings, a generator process exiting, errors from the Pro activation server), it automatically sends an error report to a server we run ourselves (errors-meye.ruobin.dev, based on the open-source GlitchTip) so we can find and fix the problem. A report contains only: the kind of error and a short, cleaned-up description, the program's call stack at a crash, Meye's version and build, the macOS version, the Mac model, and an installation number generated at random on your Mac. The installation number is not linked to your licence, your Pro device or any account.
A report never contains: screenshots, recordings or any image, the contents or names of your drafts, window titles, clipboard contents, file paths, licence codes, tokens or email addresses, your user name or your computer's name. Meye removes these from the report's text on your Mac before sending. We do not collect usage habits, performance data or session recordings. The server anonymizes the connection's IP address and does not keep the full address. Reports are deleted automatically after 90 days and are not shared with anyone.
You can turn this off at any time in Settings › General › Send Error Reports Automatically. Sending stops at once, and reports not yet sent are deleted from your Mac.
Site visit statistics, no tracking
The Meye app has no analytics. This site counts visits with Umami, which we host ourselves at umami.ruobin.dev: page address, referrer, browser, device type and country. It sets no cookies and does not identify or follow you across sites, and the data is never shared or sold. The site also stores a language-preference cookie only when you manually switch languages; it lasts up to one year and is not used to track you.
Service providers necessarily receive network information such as an IP address when handling a request. If you connect an external AI agent or share an export through another service, that service handles data under its own policies.
Retention and your choices
Local drafts remain under your control on your Mac. Licence and order records are used to operate your licence, provide support and meet applicable recordkeeping obligations. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion of personal information; some records may need to be retained to meet those obligations.
