Meye does not loop a stock track under your video. It writes a score for it: lead, chords, bass and drums, with a tempo that puts your transitions on bar lines and a chorus over the busiest stretch. The music Meye generates is yours to use, including commercially, royalty-free.

Follow Picture and ducking are on by default. Both are settings you can turn off.
Cuts on bar lines
With the tempo on auto, Meye picks one in the mood’s range that puts your transitions on bar lines, and moves a section edge within two bars of a transition onto it.
A chorus where it counts
The chorus goes over the stretch with the most clicks, key presses and zooms.
Laid out again after edits
Cut, move a zoom or add a transition and the song is laid out again from the same seed.
Quieter under your voice
The music drops about 10 dB where the microphone has someone speaking, quickly down and slowly back.
Clicks in key
Optional click, key and transition sounds sit on each event and take their pitch from the chord playing there.
Same seed, same song
The draft keeps a score, not audio. The same settings give the same sound in the preview and in every export.

Real instruments, on first use.
By default the parts play Meye’s electronic voices, or real instruments from the General MIDI bank every Mac has. Better recordings come as optional packs you download the first time you want them.

- Once a pack is installed, every part on an instrument it covers plays it automatically, in older drafts too.
- Downloads are checked for size and checksum before install. A missing pack never holds up an export; the export notes say which parts used the Mac’s own sound.

The music Meye generates for your drafts is yours to use, including commercially, royalty-free and without attribution to Ruovia LLC.
- This covers the score Meye writes for your drafts, in the videos you export from them.
- The instrument sounds it plays with are third-party and licensed for use in music you make with Meye.
- You may not redistribute the instrument sound files themselves, for example as a sample library.
Score it from a script.
The same controls run from the meye command line, so an agent or a script can try seeds and keep the one that fits. Command-line editing is part of Pro.

What the score is not.
So you can decide before you download.
- It is not a library of licensed or well-known songs. Each score is written from a mood and a seed.
- MP4 and Live Photo exports carry the music. GIF, APNG and WebP have no sound.
- The four moods cover calm to driving. For a specific style, write or import your own notes as MIDI.
- Meye needs macOS 26 or later on Apple silicon.
